New year, new gudi, same old warmth of family gathered under one roof — that's Padwa for you.

What does a new year really need? Perhaps just a flag, some neem, and people who show up.

Gudi Padwa greetings to a year that hopefully asks less of your patience and more of your joy.

Every culture has its new year — ours comes with a flag on a bamboo pole and sugar around our necks.

Why does the new year start with bitterness before sweetness? Because Gudi Padwa teaches us to accept both.
