What is Panchang?
Panchang means "five limbs" — Tithi (lunar day), Nakshatra (Moon's constellation), Yoga, Karana, and the weekday. Together they describe the Hindu lunisolar calendar for any given day.
How is this Panchang calculated?
From the Sun and Moon's actual positions in the sky for that day (using standard astronomical formulas), converted to the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the same reference most Indian Panchangs use — evaluated at sunrise in New Delhi.
Are the festival dates accurate?
Festival dates are independently curated and cross-checked against published Hindu calendars, since a few major festivals (Diwali, Janmashtami) follow special time-of-day observance rules rather than the sunrise tithi shown on each date.
